Arcata Recognized as 2013 NASA AFRC Small Business Prime Contractor Of The Year

Arcata was presented the 2013 NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center Small Business Prime contractor of the Year Award by Center Director David McBride on Monday, March 31, 2014.  The award is the 4th Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award that Arcata has received from the Center for its work on the Research Facilities and Engineering Support Services (RF&ESS) contract. 

This award recognizes the Center’s the small business prime contractor who performs well on NASA contracts, exhibits responsiveness, works cooperatively, limits subcontracting to large businesses, and provides innovative solutions to problems. Over the past 11 years, Arcata has earned award fee scores all in the excellent range.  In the nomination several areas of performance were highlighted:

·      Outstanding support of the Endeavor Ferry Flight event

·      Excellent control of labor costs and overall cost savings

·      Schedule management

·      Safety record

·      Help Desk Institute Customer Satisfaction Elite 50

·      X-48 B/C range system and process modifications to meet customer requirements

·      49% of contract POs awarded to small business

·      Meticulous repair of Flight Termination System component that substantially reduced operational risk
