Our Quality Assurance Program is based on a robust Quality Management System that is ISO 9001:2008 certified by TUV™ America. Arcata employs techniques used in ISO 9001:2008 Standards and Lean Six Sigma as primary quality tools to satisfy task order requirements for performance, cost control and to ensure repeatable excellent performance. The overarching basis of this approach is foster a culture aimed at proactively ensuring that steps are taken to mistake-proof processes, reduce variability, and improve quality.

Compliance to ISO 9001:2008 ensures that all processes are standardized and documented, metrics are assigned, and methods exist for tracking steps taken to correct a current quality issue or prevent a problem from occurring. Our ISO program also provides for tracking continuous process improvement suggestions from employees. Lean Six Sigma will complement ISO 9001:2008 by providing specific tools used to reduce process complexity, reduce cycle time, eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve product/service quality.

The application of ISO and Lean Six Sigma events to task orders institutionalizes creativity and the desire for constant improvement. Arcata uses ISO and Lean Six Sigma methodologies and their associated tools to achieve a robust and rigorous Improvement Plan. ISO and Lean Six Sigma are all process-driven quality and improvement initiatives; therefore, the principles of the plan can be applied to each task order. We will also use the Preventive Action techniques in the ISO Standard to quickly and effectively head off potential issues.
