Helen "Dodie" Carter, Arcata Procurement Support Specialist with the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, was honored to receive the Employee of the Quarter Award for the first quarter of 2011 at a ceremony held on April 20, 2011.

Each quarter the NSSC recognizes outstanding performances and contributions by civil service and contract employees. It is one of NSSC's most prestigious awards and qualifies the recipient to potentially receive the NSSC's Employee of the Year at the end of each fiscal year.

Dodie Carter has dedicated herself to the success of the NSSC Purchase Card Program for the past two years. She has played a critical role in the overall success of the NSSC's management and oversight of the Purchase Card Program, and has provided unparalleled customer support to its customers. Her nomination stated, "Dodie always promptly responds to all customer inquiries with professionalism, a courteous manner, and a willingness to resolve issues… Her exceptional support is not only directed towards NSSC customers, but all Centers… Everyone has stated that she is top notch and they sincerely appreciate all she does to support them."

"Dodie showed outstanding initiative leading the NSSC Purchase Card Program during a critical time in January 2011. Being proactive, she converted all cardholder official files to an electronic format which resulted in the quicker retrieval of files. This conversion improved the responsiveness to customer inquiries and the accuracy of payments of purchase card statements. We congratulate Dodie on her award," said Billy Wright, Arcata NSSC Site Manager.

Dodie is Arcata's first award recipient of the NSSC Employee of the Quarter award.
